Maurizio Sarri has been warned not to sign more players from Napoli by the club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Sarri joined Chelsea earlier this month after his contract in Napoli was cut short by the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti. Sarri also acted as the central character in luring Jorginho to the London club after the Brazil born Italian midfielder was destined to join Manchester City earlier. The Napoli club president has now accused Sarri of taking away the “whole team”.
Chelsea are currently also linked with Kalidou Koulibaly and Elseid Hysaj. Both played a key role in Sarri’s Napoli team last season. Hearing such rumours on a regular basis has forced De Laurentiis to believe that the new Chelsea manager is looking to “dismantle” his old Napoli team.
De Laurentiis said,
“He wanted Jorginho and I gave him away after I talked to Ancelotti, who told me he was banking a lot on Diawara and that he wanted to move Hamsik deeper.”
“After that, he wanted to take my whole team to England and dismantle it.
“I had to lay down the law to Marina [Granovskaia, Chelsea director].
Chelsea are also linked with a move for Juventus pair Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani. Meanwhile Alvaro Morata has been linked with a move away to Milan and Giroud has also been linked with a move on loan to Atletico Madrid
