‘There’s Red in my heart’: Ander Herrera’s goodbye message to MUFC

A news which sends many Manchester United fans into meltdown is out and breaking hearts. Whenever a promising, proven and much cherished player decides to part ways with the club it surely carries emotion to it, and so is the emotion of Ander Herrera who is heard reciting following words in his farewell message in the video posted by Manchester United football club on their twitter handle.

“There is red in my heart, I knew it from the first time I played here and in the moment that I started to wear it.

A club with thousands of fans that respect and remember all the players who give everything. I felt special when I heard my name chanted. I felt proud when the fans decided (on Sir Matt Busby Player of the year award), I was part of this incredible history.

Every time I represented this club in every game in wins and losses, even when I couldn’t help from the grass I understood what this club means. I am going to remember each of the almost 200 matches that I have played with this jersey. Because playing for the greatest club in England has been a true honour.

Thanks for these 5 amazing years!”

Herrera has played 189 games in his 5 seasons at club which saw Spaniard winning 2 domestic cups and one major European Cup in the name of UEFA Europa League. With United not finishing in top 4 this season, a loss of their key player in midfield doesn’t help the club much which is working on its rebuilding. As for Herrera, he was a true Red and will be remembered by the fans.
