Not many people can forget about the miserable evening Loris Karius had back in the UCL final against Madrid. Jurgen Klopp has been very keen since then to find a more reliable number 1 to add to his arsenal.
The search for that reliable man between the sticks might just have come to a very productive end. Reports suggest Liverpool have finally struck a deal valued at £66.8m for the Brazilian goalkeeper, Alisson Becker. Alisson is reportedly keen to get into the Premier League and light up the Anfield with his individual brilliance.
Alisson was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge or The Bernabeu earlier, with Chelsea being unsure about Courtois’ stay in London and Madrid being keen to replace Navas. However, Liverpool acted as the quickest movers by putting up a bid of £62m(including add-ons) on the table as soon as the World Cup ended. The Serie A club had a firm stance over the evaluation of their goalkeeper and asked Liverpool to step up their offer.
According to the reports, Liverpool finally came up with an increased offer of £66.8m(€75m) in order to match the evaluation. The Merseyside Reds have now been given a green light by Roma to talk with Alisson and complete the formalities in the upcoming days.
